Webinar: At-Home Learning: Advice from the Homeschooling Community

Are you concerned that your child will fall behind as a result of pandemic-related school closures or summer camp cancellations? Or, are you struggling to meet the distance learning requirements implemented by your child’s school? In this webinar, you’ll hear from a homeschooling expert about why meaningful learning does not have to take place within the confines of a traditional classroom and what you can do now to engage your child in learning that will last a lifetime. Get ideas about how to experiment with new types of educational activities and discover what really excites your child.

You’ll also find out:

  • How to use your child’s strengths and interests to engage him or her in the learning process across multiple subject areas
  • Why allowing your child to learn at his or her own pace (as opposed to focusing on a specific grade level) can result in greater confidence and a deeper, longer-lasting knowledge base
  • How to find or design activities that catch your child’s interest and make learning fun – so fun, in fact, that your child might not realize how much s/he is learning!

About Our Presenter

Jennifer Eager is a mother of four with more than 20 years of homeschooling experience in grades K-12. During the two decades spent educating her children, she experimented with several different homeschooling methods and styles, including traditional homeschooling, Waldorf homeschooling, unschooling, and others. Eventually, she settled into an eclectic approach that felt “just right” for her family. Eager credits homeschooling – and the freedom that comes with it – for helping her children develop a natural curiosity, love of learning, and high degree of creativity that has followed them into young adulthood and beyond. Eager is currently a freelance writer living in Long Island.
